PURPOSE: A mechanism using combined action modes of a rheological fluid is provided to enable size reduction by simplified structure or a change of a shape and to achieve high output. CONSTITUTION: In a shear mode of a mechanism using combined action modes of a rheological fluid, a plate(32) having a shearing area is arranged between an N-pole stator(31) and an S-pole stator(33) fixed to the ground. An MR(Magneto-Rheological) fluid is filled between the N-pole stator and the S-pole stator. A magnetic force line(35) turns toward an S-pole from an N-pole. A molecule of the MR fluid constitutes a chain(34). If the plate is pushed by the force of F, the shape of the chain is changed and the chain has resisting force till the chain is broken.
