INCLINATION CONTROL DEVICE OF A STEERING COLUMN TO PREVENT INTERFERENCE FROM OUTSIDE BY A HOUSING CONNECTION PORTION OF UPPER AND LOWER STEERING COLUMNS

PURPOSE: An inclination control device of a steering column is provided to prevent the unlocking of an upper steering column from releasing by an undesired operation error and to increase operation reliability of locking/unlocking by a simple locking/unlocking structure. CONSTITUTION: An inclination control device of a steering column is composed of a lower steering column(110) for housing movably a lower steering shaft and having a fixed gear unit(111) formed at the upper end side; an upper steering column(120) for housing movably an upper steering shaft having one end combined with the lower steering shaft by a universal joint and having a movable gear unit(122) movably shaft-mounted at the lower end; a supporting bracket(130) movably shaft-installed with the upper steering column and fixed to a vehicle body to receive a connection portion of the upper and lower steering columns; a supporting lever(140) formed with an elastic body(141), hinge-joined to the upper steering column, and inserted into a recessed groove(121) of the movable gear unit to elastically hold the movable gear unit; and a tilt lever(150) combined to the supporting lever by a wire(151). The movable gear unit comprises the recessed groove formed at a lower end and teeth(122a) arranged at an upper end to engage with the fixed gear unit.
