PURPOSE: A portable application device supporting a mass storage function of a USB(Universal Serial Bus) type and a contents protecting function, a USB system equipped with the same, and a method thereof are provided to support the CONSTITUTION: A microcomputer(210) generates a content file information extraction control signal and outputs the content file information extracted from the memory(250) by receiving/analyzing an instruction based on a standard protocol or a specialized protocol accessed through certification. A standard/specialized category protocol firmware(220) stores standard/specialized protocol instruction sets and outputs a standard or specialized category protocol instruction matched with the extraction control signal. A USB interface device(240)receives/outputs the instruction data to the microcomputer and processes/outputs the content file information by the extraction control signal. The memory stores the content file information accessed by the instruction of the standard/specialized protocol.
