PURPOSE: A compatible mobile system and method for a mobile contents service are provided to provide convenience by solving a problem that CPs(Contents Providers) must provide contents of a different ML(Mark-up Language) according to each mobile communication provider. CONSTITUTION: Contents providing servers(5,10,15) include a database of contents to be provided to a subscriber mobile phone. A compatible mobile server receives the mobile contents from the contents providing servers(5,10,15), converts data according to a corresponding mobile standard upon receipt of a request from the subscriber mobile phone, and transmits it to a WAP(Wireless Application Protocol) G/W(Gateway) server(60). A charging server(40) calculates a rate for use of contents data transmitted to the mobile phone. An authentication server(45) performs user authentication with respect to the subscriber mobile phone. An SMSC(Short Message Service Center)(50) transmits an SMS message to the subscriber mobile phone. The WAP G/W server(60) converts an HTTP stack, namely, a protocol of contents data, transmitted from the compatible mobile server, into a WAP stack, namely, a wireless Internet-dedicated protocol.
