PURPOSE: A system and a method for estimating a fitness level and automatically calculating a customized exercise prescription by maximum oxygen consumption of a non-contact type are provided to automatically produce an optimal customized exercise prescription based on a personal aerobic exercise capacity by estimating the fitness level of a user through a multi-step exercise test. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises a running machine(200) to control an inclination of a footstep and freely control a speed, and a computer(100). The computer is equipped with a storing tool(110) and a program(120). The storing tool stores basic exerciser information(111) such as a gender, an age, a physical condition, and a diseases history, exerciser form information(112) such as fatness, a fat ratio, and abnormal weight, exerciser test information(113) obtained during exercise on the running machine, and fitness test reference information(114) discriminated into each age/form/fitness level. The program automatically produces the optimal customized exercise prescription including an optimal exercise speed/method of the user based on various kinds of information stored in the storing tool.
