PURPOSE: A genetic marker of a lipoprotein lipase gene for intramuscular fat contents in cattle is provided, thereby easily selecting high quality of beef and cattle at an early stage, and reducing the breeding cost of cattle. CONSTITUTION: The genetic marker of lipoprotein lipase gene for intramuscular fat contents in cattle comprises the nucleotide sequence of intron 6 corresponding to from 212th to 1458th nucleotides in the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:1 encoding bovine lipoprotein lipase, wherein a 1409th nucleotide is mutated from G to A in the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:1; and a primer sequence of the bovine lipoprotein lipase gene comprises the nucleotide sequence of exon 6 corresponding to from 1th to 211th nucleotides, and the nucleotide sequence of exon 7 corresponding to from 1459th to 1554th nucleotides in the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO:1.
