PURPOSE: A device for protecting a display portion of a slide-type mobile communication terminal is provided to comprise a protection window for protecting a display portion and a motor for opening/closing the protection window, depending on whether a slide member is open or closed, thereby closing the window when the slide member is closed while opening the window when the slide member is open. CONSTITUTION: A protection window(30) is inserted into a guide groove(24) of a guide rib(22) formed in a slide member(20), and is formed with a hooking end(32) for preventing a movement at more than a certain distance. A rack gearing train(34) is longer than the protection window(30) on one side end of the protection window(30) to be horizontally moved by a driving of a motor(40), so that the protection window(30) can horizontally move. The motor(40) is mounted between an inner side of the slide member(20) and the protection window(30), and supplies a driving force for horizontally moving the protection window(30).
