The device has a cap movably mounted on a moving part (2) of a slide (1) such that the cap is movable between protection position and sliding motion position to authorize sliding motion of the moving part with respect to a fixed part (3) of the slide. The cap partially covers rear free end of the moving part in the protection position and releases the rear free end of the moving part in the sliding motion position. A flap extends perpendicularly to a sliding motion axis (A1) when the cap is in the protection position. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a car seat (2) a slide.
