摘要
PURPOSE: Porous inorganic materials dispersed in a liquid, colloidal suspensions, are provided for use as impact attenuators or vibration attenuators dissipating impact energy applied from the outside. CONSTITUTION: The inorganic materials used as impact attenuators are clusters of porous inorganic particles with fine pores on which a hydrophobic coating layer, consisting of a linear chain of alkylsilane bound on the interface of particles, is formed, wherein the inorganic particles, having a different pore structure such as single, double, or hollow pore structure, are silica gel, Al2O3, carbon nanotube, Al-Si, C-Si, Cr-Si, etc., and the clusters are mixtures of two or more of particles having a different pore structure. The inorganic colloidal suspensions used as impact attenuators are porous inorganic particles dispersed in lyophobic fluid(water), aqueous solvent, liquid Hg or magnetic liquid, wherein the liquid is flown into or from the fine pores(1-10nm) when the pressure is applied to inorganic particles to dissipate mechanical disturbance caused by the impact, wherein the inorganic materials are silica gel, porous aluminum oxide, carbon nanotube, Al-Si, C-Si, or Cr-Si, and the liquid is water, aqueous solvent, magnetic liquid, liquid Hg, liquid Pb, liquid flux or salt water.
