CONTROL METHOD OF A MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, PARTICULARLY FOR PREVENTING DATA TRANSMISSION FROM BEING DISCONTINUED IN THE OCCURRENCE OF HANDOFF BETWEEN BASE STATIONS OR WHEN A PING-PONG PHENOMENON OCCURS

PURPOSE: A control method of a mobile communication system is provided to prevent a loss of packet data by early initiating the transmission of the packet data and simultaneously transmitting the packet data through a serving base station and a target base station if a line collection request signal is not received. CONSTITUTION: A BSC(Base Station Controller) provides packet data to a serving base station(S1). When the BSC receives a line allocation request signal from a target base station(S3), the BSC immediately requests a final transmission packet number from the serving base station(S5). The BSC provides a final transmission packet number, which has been received from the serving base station, to the target base station(S7). The BSC provides new packet data to the target base station and to the serving base station(S9). When the BSC receives a line collection request either from the serving base station or from the target base station, the BSC releases the status as the serving base station with respect to the corresponding base station, namely, which has requested the line collection to stop the data transmission to the corresponding base station(S10).
