PURPOSE: An apparatus and method of inspecting a film carrier tape for mounting electronic parts are provided to perform swiftly and exactly a quality inspecting process for the tape without warpage or sagging of the tape by using a tape correcting member. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus includes a gate unit(60) with an opening for inspection. The gate unit is used for supporting and guiding a transferred film carrier tape. The gate unit includes a tape correcting member(90) contacting the tape in a width direction. The tape correcting member is used for biasing the tape toward a contact direction.
