METHOD FOR PERFORMING HANDOVER IN A MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, PARTICULARLY REGARDING TO EFFICIENTLY MANAGING RADIO RESOURCES MANAGED BY A RADIO NETWORK CONTROLLER

PURPOSE: A method for performing handover in a mobile communication system is provided to efficiently manage radio resources managed by a radio network controller by performing handover by using other usable radio resources except requested radio resources. CONSTITUTION: The first radio network controller(402) transmits a handover request and resources to be assigned to a user equipment(400) performing handover to the second radio network controller. The second radio network controller(404) judges whether the second base station can assign the requested resources. If not, the second radio network controller(404) searches for other resources to be assigned. If other resources are searched, the second radio network controller(404) reports information related to other resources to the first radio network controller(402). The user equipment(400) performs the handover by using the information related to other resources.
