PURPOSE: Provided are a negative electrode composition which has improved dispersibility of slurry and excellent combination with a sheet-like electrode plate, and is environmentally friendly, and a negative electrode and a lithium battery with improved electrical properties comprising the same. CONSTITUTION: The negative electrode composition for a lithium battery comprises 90-99 wt% of a negative electrode active material, 0.1-4.0 wt% of a synthetic rubber-based binder, 0.1-4.0 wt% of a cellulose-based dispersant and 0.1-4.0 wt% of a water-soluble anionic polyelectrolyte. Particularly, the water-soluble anionic polyelectrolyte is citrate, tartrate, succinate, poly(met)acrylate or a mixture thereof. The synthetic rubber-based binder is styrene butadiene rubber, nitrile butadiene rubber, methyl (met)acrylate butadiene rubber, chloroprene rubber, carboxy modified styrene butadiene rubber, modified polyorganosiloxane-based polymer or a mixture thereof. The cellulose-based dispersant is carboxy methyl cellulose, carboxy ethyl cellulose, amino ethyl cellulose, oxy ethyl cellulose or a mixture thereof.
