PURPOSE: A method for recognizing a business card of a mobile communication terminal attached with a camera is provided to photograph a business card with a camera attached to a mobile communication terminal, and to divide contents written on the card by field, then to store the divided contents in a memory, thereby reducing time required for inputting the contents of the card. CONSTITUTION: When a user photographs a business card with a camera attached to a terminal(305), a controller generates an image of the photographed business card(311). The controller blocks characters included in the card image by field(321), and displays the blocked fields and menus for dividing the fields on an LCD screen of the terminal(331). The user selects one of the blocked fields by moving a cursor(333), and selects a menu or a hot key corresponding to the selected field(337). The controller transmits the selected field to a character recognizer such that the character recognizer can recognize the selected field based on the menu(341). The controller stores the recognized field in a memory(351). If the field selection is completed(355), the procedure is terminated.
