CATHODE RAY TUBE INCLUDING INNER SHIELD WITH EXTENDED PORTION COATED WITH METAL LAYER HAVING PERMEABILITY LARGER THAN THAT OF INNER SHIELD, FOR PREVENTING DISTORTION OF ELECTRON BEAM PATH

PURPOSE: A cathode ray tube is provided to prevent a distortion of an electron beam path caused due to terrestrial magnetic fields, by forming a metal layer having a permeability larger than that of an inner shield, along the edge of the portion extended from the inner shield. CONSTITUTION: A cathode ray tube comprises a panel(22); a funnel(23) attached to the panel; a shadow mask assembly arranged in the panel; a fixing portion(29a) supported by the shadow mask assembly; and an inner shield(29) having an extended portion(29b) extended from the fixing portion toward a neck portion(23a) of the funnel so as to cover the trajectory of electron beam. The extended portion has an end with an outer surface coated with a metal layer(30) having a permeability larger than that of the inner shield.
