METHOD FOR MAINTAINING INK JET PRINTER FOR PREVENTING NOZZLE OF INK JET PRINTER HEAD FROM CLOGGING

PURPOSE: A method for maintaining an ink jet printer is provided to prevent a nozzle of an ink jet printer head from clogging by sufficiently spitting the ink jet printer head having a low frequency of use without increasing the number of spitting process. CONSTITUTION: A method for maintaining an ink jet printer is carried out by a system including a CPU and a timer. The method includes the steps of calculating an amount of used ink in each print head when a printing mode is closed(S120) and comparing the calculated amount of used ink with a reference amount of ink(S180). If the calculated amount of used ink is identical to or smaller than the reference amount of ink, a spitting process is carried out with respect to the print head(S190).
