PURPOSE: A selective transmit-receive system using a single phone number and a method thereof are provided so that a transmitter can directly make a call to a desired receiver among a plurality of receivers using a single phone number in common, without an intermediary receiver. CONSTITUTION: A selective transmit-receive system using a single phone number comprises a transmitting terminal(100), an exchange(200), a receiving terminal, and a relay system(400). The exchange(200), interworking with the relay system(400), transmits a specific call, received to a single phone number registered in the relay system(400), to the relay system(400). The relay system(400) comprises a database part and an ARS(Automatic Response Service) part. The database part stores information on a plurality of receivers who share the receiving terminal. The ARS part, in case that a call request to a registered single phone number, that is, the phone number of the receiving terminal, is received, directs the caller to select a desired receiver among a plurality of receivers who use the single phone number in common.
