PURPOSE: An MGC(Media Gateway Controller) and a method for according termination states between the MGC and an MG(Media Gateway) are provided to inspect an MG if states between an MGC and the MG are not accorded together, and to compare state information stored in the MGC with the inspected state information to recover the state information of the MGC, thereby supplying a smooth service to an AG(Access Gateway) subscriber. CONSTITUTION: A call processor(24) performs a call processing and connecting control function by controlling an MG, and manages a circuit state and an event state of the MG. An operation manager(26) inspects a current termination state of the MG and a termination state of the MG stored in the call processor(24), and accords the two termination states. An MEGACO(Media Gateway Control) processor(22) performs communication among the call processor(24), the operation manager(26), and the MG according to an MEGACO protocol.
