DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER FOR IMPROVING PURIFICATION OF DIESEL EXHAUST GAS BY COMBINATION OF METAL OXIDE/PRECIOUS METAL CATALYST COMPOSITION AND FUEL CONTAINING ORGANIC-METAL COMPLEX

PURPOSE: To provide a wall flowing filter for removing NO2, CO, incompletely burnt hydrocarbons and particulate in exhaust gas from diesel engines, and a catalytic purification method of exhaust gas from combustion of the diesel fuels. CONSTITUTION: The catalytic purification method of exhaust gas from combustion of the diesel fuels comprises the step of passing the exhaust gas through a wall flowing filter comprising a catalyst material that is active in reducing nitrogen oxides into nitrogen and oxidizing carbonaceous compounds into carbon dioxide and water, wherein the wall flowing filter is formed of sintered silicon carbide particles and comprises a titanium dioxide layer formed on the surface of the respective particles, and the active catalyst material comprises oxides of vanadium, tungsten, metal palladium and metal platinum. The wall flowing filter used in purification of exhaust gas from diesel engines is formed of sintered silicon carbide particles and comprises a porous layer of titanium dioxide formed on the surface of the respective particles, and active catalyst material supported by titanium dioxide comprises oxides of vanadium, tungsten, metal palladium and metal platinum.
