摘要

PURPOSE: An ignition system of an engine is provided to restrict an ignition coil from overheating by lowering a current value applied to the ignition coil by re-setting the dwell time and to cool actively the ignition coil by supplying the cold air to a cylinder head. CONSTITUTION: An ignition system of an engine is composed of a temperature sensor(20) for detecting the temperature of an ignition coil(14); an ECU(Electronic Control Unit,10) for re-setting the dwell time to lower a value of an electric current applied on a first ignition coil(14a) of the ignition coil if the temperature of the ignition coil detected by the temperature sensor is heated over a set value; and a flow passage(26) for supplying the cooled air to a cylinder head mounted with the ignition coil.
