BACKLIGHT ASSEMBLY HAVING A FIXING ELEMENT FOR FIXING A LIGHT GUIDE PLATE TO A CONTAINER AND AN LCD HAVING THE BACKLIGHT ASSEMBLY

PURPOSE: A backlight assembly and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) including the same are provided to prevent a light guide plate from moving freely, thereby preventing a breakage in the backlight assembly and improving image quality and reliability of the LCD by using a fixing element for fixing the light guide plate to a container of the backlight assembly. CONSTITUTION: A light guide plate(300) has an incidence surface where a light of a lamp unit(400) is projected, a reflection surface for reflecting the light, and an exit surface(310) where the light goes. A container(100) receives the lamp unit and the light guide plate, wherein the container has a receiving space at a surface which is opposite to the exit surface of the light guide plate. A fixing element(120) fixes the light guide plate to the container to prevent the light guide plate from moving freely.
