PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method are provided to give path and position information in a cochlea to a medical doctor in opening, so that a damage of an inner wall of the cochlea by an electrode being implanted is reduced and the electrode is optimally positioned in the cochlea. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus provides data of implant path for an artificial cochlear. An optical tube(340) allows the transmission of optical signal. An optical signal radiating module(325) converts an electric signal into an optical signal and radiates it through one side of the optical tube. The radiating module is coupled to the other side of the optical tube. An optical detecting module(330) is also coupled to one side of the optical tube. The detecting module receives the optical signal reflected against an inner wall of the cochlear or a barrier and converts the received signal into an electric signal. A central process member(310) provides a control signal to the radiating module and the detecting module. The central processing member analyzes information on quantities of optical signal radiating energy and optical signal detecting energy, generating information on implant path of the cochlea.
