PURPOSE: A circuit and a method for testing the stator core in a generator are provided to improve the reliability of measurement with a uniform cable alignment by utilizing the multicore cable. CONSTITUTION: A circuit and a method for testing the stator core in a generator includes a multicore cable for exciting current and a cable connection terminal. The multicore cable for exciting current is provided with a plurality of wire strands and connected through the main power supply(11) and the variable transformer(12). The multicore cable for exciting current is used for identifying the electrical reliability of stator core. And, the cable connection terminal controls the number of turns of the cable required to the voltage in proportional in response to the capacitance of the stator of the generator.
