PURPOSE: To provide a semi-solid metal slurry producing apparatus that obtains fine and uniformed spheroidized particles, improves energy efficiency, reduces production cost, improves mechanical properties, simplifies casting process, easily produces and discharges a high quality semi-solid metal slurry for a short time and obtains good connection with a succeeding process. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for producing semi-solid metal slurry comprises a sleeve(2) both ends of which are opened, and into one end of which a liquid phase molten metal(M) is injected; an opening and closing means(3) for opening and closing the other end of the sleeve; an agitation part(1) comprising an electromagnetic field impressing coil unit(11) disposed on a circumferential portion of the sleeve to impress a certain electromagnetic field to the sleeve; and an electromagnetic field impressing control part(16) electrically connected to the agitation part such that the electromagnetic field impressing coil unit impress an extent of electromagnetic field that is not capable of forming an initial solidification layer on the molten metal to the sleeve before the molten metal is injected into the sleeve and finishes impressing of the electromagnetic field to the sleeve at a time point when crystal nucleus is formed in poured molten metal.
