PURPOSE: A compressor control method of a multi-air conditioner is provided to prevent noise, wear, and life span reduction caused by the lack of oil and to restrict the capacity reduction of a compressor generated in the excess of the oil. CONSTITUTION: A compressor control method of a multi-air conditioner for regulating on/off and capacity of a variable displacement compressor according to on/off of plural indoor devices and controlling on/off of a constant-speed compressor is composed of steps for integrating the operation time of the variable displacement compressor or the constant-speed compressor(S1); comparing the integration time of the variable displacement compressor or the constant-speed compressor with a first set time(S2); judging an oil-balanced state if the operation time of the variable displacement compressor or the constant-speed compressor is over the first set time(S3); driving the variable displacement compressor for a second set time at a first set capacity and turning off the constant-speed compressor for the oil-balanced state; and driving the variable displacement compressor for a third set time at a second set capacity and turning on the constant-speed compressor(S4).
