PURPOSE: Provided is a method for synthesizing a para-hydroquinone compound containing an allylic sulfone moiety by the one-stepwise Fiedel-Crafts reaction employing inexpensive and easily available starting materials with higher yield. CONSTITUTION: The para-hydroquinone compound containing an allylic sulfone moiety which can be efficiently utilized for the preparation of coenzyme Q and vitamin K, is represented by the formula 2, wherein R is OCH3 or a case in which R-R is CH=CH-CH=CH and P is an alkyl group having carbon atoms of 1 to 10, and is synthesized by the method comprising the Fiedel-Crafts reaction of a para-hydroquinone compound £A| containing a protecting group with (E)-4-halo-3-methyl-1-phenylsulfonyl-2-butene £E| or (E)-4-hydroxy-3-methyl-1-phenylsulfonyl-2-butene £F|.
