PURPOSE: An xDSL system modem having an EOC(Embedded Operational Channel) command filtering function and an EOC command processing method therefor are provided to process a meaningful EOC command only, thereby reducing the frequency of interrupt for EOC command processing while reducing a manufacturing cost. CONSTITUTION: A host data processor(210) modulates the first data received from the first host(100) to output the modulated data, demodulates modulated second data, and outputs the demodulated second data to the first host(100). A PMD(Physical Medium Dependent) unit(220) converts the modulated first data into the first data stream to transmit the first data stream to other modem through a telephone line(400), and separates the modulated second data from an EOC command in the second data stream to output the separated data and the command. The host data processor(210) receives the EOC command if an interrupt signal is received, and outputs EOC information. The PMD unit(220) outputs the interrupt signal and the EOC command when the EOC command is meaningful, and receives the EOC information to convert into the first data stream with the modulated first data.
