VARIETY OF PLANT CYMBIDIUM NAMED 'CHANGE COLOR' HAVING DIFFERENT FLOWER COLOR FROM ITS PARENT PLANTS

PURPOSE: A variety of plant Cymbidium named 'Change Color' is provided, which Cymbidium has different flower color from its parent plants, and is cheaply mass-produced by using a mericlone culture technique. CONSTITUTION: The variety of plant Cymbidium named 'Change Color' is prepared by interspecific hybrid between Cymbidium 'Pipeta' variety as a father plant and Cymbidium 'Bo-Se-Ran' variety as a mother plant; germinating the interspecific hybrid plant under antiseptic condition; growing an intermediate plant between root and protocorm-like body(PLB); differentiating the intermediate to produce shoots; transferring the shoots into a flask; and asexually reproducing the shoots, wherein the plant Cymbidium 'Change Color' has the properties of: the leaf length of 60 cm, the leaf number of 7, the flower number of 22-28, the flower stalk length of 44-45 cm, the flower color of violet(7.5RP5-10 to 5RP6-8), the flower size of 6 cm, the flowering time of November to December, the use for enjoyment, and the disease tolerance of slightly strong.
