VARIETY OF PLANT CYMBIDIUM NAMED 'CHUHONG' HAVING DIFFERENT FLOWER COLOR FROM ITS PARENT PLANTS

PURPOSE: A variety of plant Cymbidium named 'ChuHong' is provided, which Cymbidium has different flower color from its parent plants, and are cheaply mass-produced by using a mericlone culture technique. CONSTITUTION: The variety of plant Cymbidium named 'ChuHong' is prepared by interspecific hybrid between Cymbidium 'Jack Proste' variety as a mother plant and Cymbidium 'Bo-Se-Ran' variety as a father plant; germinating the interspecific hybrid plant under antiseptic condition; growing an intermediate plant between root and protocorm-like body(PLB); differentiating the intermediate to produce shoots; transferring the shoots into a flask; and asexually reproducing the shoots, wherein the plant Cymbidium 'ChuHong' has the properties of: the leaf length of 74 cm, the leaf number of 7, the flower number of 9, the flower stalk length of 65 cm, the flower color of pink(10RP 4/4), the flower size of 7 cm, the flowering time of all the year round, the use for enjoyment, and the disease tolerance of slightly strong.
