PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for scheduling transmission in a wireless data network are provided to increase processing capability of the network by reducing or removing TCP(Transfer Control Protocol) timeouts. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus used for scheduling data transfer between a base station and a plurality of mobile terminals includes first and second circuits. The first circuit calculates a value of a scheduling metric for respective mobile terminal(504). The scheduling metric represents processing capability of the respective mobile terminal(505). The second circuit schedules the transfer between the base station and the mobile terminals according to the calculated scheduling metric.
