PURPOSE: Provided are the use of oltipraz as the therapeutic for hepatitis B and a pharmaceutical composition containing the oltipraz as an active ingredient. Therefore, the composition is used for treating hepatitis B and recovering damaged liver tissue. CONSTITUTION: The composition containing oltipraz contains, as an active ingredient, a therapeutically effective amount of oltipraz and pharmaceutically acceptable carriers, wherein the average particular size of the oltipraz is 5-16 micrometers. The composition is formulated into pills, tablets, capsules, powders, granules, syrups, suspensions, emulsions or injections.
