WPAN(WIRELESS PERSONAL AREA NETWORK) SYSTEM FOR EXPANDING SERVICE AREA, PARTICULARLY FOR ENABLING COMMUNICATION AMONG DEVICES INCLUDED IN DIFFERENT PICONETS

PURPOSE: A WPAN system is provided to expand a physical service area and to form a logical piconet by devices included in physically different piconets by making piconets connect to optical fibers so as to have a structure for enabling two-way communication. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises an optical fiber(100), plural piconets(300, 400, 500), plural signal converters(310, 410, 510), and plural connectors(220, 240, 260). The optical fiber(100) transmits data. The piconets(300, 400, 500) include plural devices and PNC(Piconet Coordinator) devices for managing the devices. The signal converters(310, 410, 510), arranged correspondingly to the piconets(300, 400, 500), converts the optical signal of the optical fiber(100) into the electric signal, transmits the converted electric signal to the piconets(300, 400, 500), converts the electric signal of the piconets(300, 400, 500) into the optical signals, and transmits the converted optical signals to the optical fiber(100). The connectors(220, 240, 260) makes the optical fiber(100) connect to the piconets(300, 400, 500), and branches the signals among the signals converters(310, 410, 510) and the optical fiber(100) to transmit the signal. One PNC of the PNC devices included in a piconet allots a time slot and manages devices in the piconet.
