摘要

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for encoding and decoding broadcasting/preliminary contents are provided to regenerate preliminary contents in case of a reception failure, thereby removing unpleasantness of a user generated by video and sound regenerated in an inferior state. CONSTITUTION: If it is judged that broadcasting contents stream is in a decodable state, a content decoding instructing unit(64) gives instructions to decode the broadcasting contents stream. If it is judged that broadcasting contents stream is not in a decodable state, the content decoding instructing unit gives instructions to decode preliminary contents stream. If receiving the instructions to decode the broadcasting contents stream, a broadcasting contents stream decoder(65) decodes the broadcasting contents stream for restoring broadcasting contents. If receiving the instructions to decode the preliminary contents stream, a preliminary contents stream decoder(66) decodes the preliminary contents stream for restoring preliminary contents. A broadcasting/preliminary contents regenerating unit(67) regenerates the restored broadcasting contents or preliminary contents.
