PURPOSE: A method of making seaweed salt by finely crushing dried seaweeds, adding with seawater and drying is provided. The product is rich in minerals, organic components and fibers and has good color, reduced sodium content and low salinity. CONSTITUTION: Fresh seaweeds or dried seaweeds are cut to 1 to 3mm or finely crushed and dried at 100deg.C or more. The dried seaweeds are repeatedly added with seawater in a weight ratio of 20 to 50%:80 to 50% and dried at 50 to 100deg.C after dehydrating until its salinity becomes 60 to 80% to give seaweed salt. Thus obtained seaweed salt is introduced into a bamboo tube, sealed with loess and heated at 1,200 to 1,500deg.C for 10 to 13hr. The procedure is repeated several times.
