VANISH FOR FORMING ALIGNMENT FILM FOR LIQUID CRYSTALS, WHICH IS OBTAINED BY USING SILSESQUIOXANE DERIVATIVES, ALIGNMENT FILM FORMED BY USING THE SAME, AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE COMPRISING ALIGNMENT FILM
PURPOSE: Provided are a vanish for forming an alignment film for liquid crystals, which has good mechanical strength against the abrasion by rubbing, and excellent adhesion onto a glass substrate and storage stability, an alignment film formed by using the varnish and a liquid crystal display device comprising the alignment film. CONSTITUTION: The varnish for forming an alignment film comprises a polymer which is obtained by using silsesquioxane derivatives represented by the formula 1 and is comprised of a polymeric chain formed by at least any one of an amide bond and an imide bond. In the formula 1, R1 is a group independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, an alkyl, an aryl and an arylalkyl, each being capable of having a substituent, at least two of Y are groups selected from any group consisting of a group represented by the formula 2-1 and a group represented by the formula 2-2, and the remaining Y is hydrogen, in the formula 2-1 and 2-2, Z1 is a group having an amino group, Z2 is a group having a 2-oxapropanedioyl group and R2 is defined as in R1.
