METHOD FOR MINIMIZING THE POWER CONSUMPTION IN CASE THAT A WIRELESS TERMINAL GETS OUT OF A CELL COVERAGE, ESPECIALLY CONCERNED WITH REDUCING THE POWER CONSUMPTION IN A SHADOW AREA BY PERIODICALLY TRANSMITTING A SIGNAL FOR FINDING OUT A BASE STATION BY USING AN RTC INTERRUPT IN CASE THAT A WIRELESS TERMINAL GETS OUT OF A SERVICE AREA
PURPOSE: A method for minimizing the power consumption in case that a wireless terminal gets out of a cell coverage is provided to reduce the power consumption in a shadow area by turning off a main clock and periodically transmitting a signal for finding out a base station by using an RTC(Real Time Clock) interrupt, based on an auxiliary clock, in case that a wireless terminal moves to the shadow area. CONSTITUTION: In case that a mobile terminal gets out of a service area while transmitting and receiving signals with a base station(201,202), the mobile terminal enters a deep sleep mode to turn off a main clock(203). The mobile terminal transmits a signal for finding out a base station by using an RTC clock periodically generated according to an auxiliary clock(204). If the mobile terminal accesses a service area again in the deep sleep mode(205), the mobile terminal turns on the main clock and enters a normal mode(206).
