SLAG DART FOR PREVENTING OUTFLOW OF SLAG DURING CONVERTER TAPPING BY CHANGING SHAPE AND STRUCTURE OF SLOT OF SLAG DART, THEREBY EFFECTIVELY BLOCKING OUTFLOW OF CONVERTER SLAG

PURPOSE: To improve quality of molten steel and reduce an amount of subsidiary raw materials additionally injected into a converter to adjust slag peroxide composition by suppressing vortex phenomenon, thereby reducing outflow of slag into a teeming ladle and to simply fabricate a slag dart by changing shape of a refractory frame of solid slag dart head only. CONSTITUTION: In a top shaped slag dart(20) used during converter tapping, the slag dart for suppressing vortex during converter tapping is characterized in that a plurality of slots(22) are formed in an "S" character shape on the surface of a top shaped body(21) oppositely to a vortex generation direction such that width of an upper part of the slots is wider than width of a lower part of the slots, and a steel rod(25) is attached to a lower part of the body, wherein the "S" character shaped slots are formed in a rectangular or semicircular cross-sectional shape, wherein a ratio of width(D) of the upper part to width(d) of the lower part of the "S" character shaped slots is 0.4 to 0.7, and wherein the "S" character shaped slots are directed to the same direction and spaced from one another in a certain distance if there are a plurality of "S" character shaped slots formed on the slag dart body.
