PURPOSE: A DSP(Digital Signal Processor) having a wide memory bandwidth fit to process data of a high data rate and a memory mapping method thereof are provided to properly process the data of the high date rate like a high resolution moving image by reducing a memory access frequency for processing data, as the wide data bandwidth is offered between a calculation element and a memory element. CONSTITUTION: The first-third memory elements are connected to the first communication port(501) and are arranged to the first row direction of a DSP architecture. The fourth memory element, the calculation element(CE), and the fifth memory element are arranged to the second row direction under the first row direction of the DSP architecture. The sixth-eighth memory elements are connected to the first communication port and are arranged to the third row direction. The operation element is interconnected with the first-eighth memory elements.
