PURPOSE: A white light emitting device is provided to efficiently form white light of an arbitrary color temperature and stably obtain white light without varying a color tone with respect to a variation of temperature by using a white light emitting device and a fluorescent body. CONSTITUTION: An LED(light emitting diode) is prepared. A fluorescent body ZnSxSe1-x(0x1) is excited by the light emitted from the LED and emits light, including at least one of Cu, Ag or Au. The fluorescent body may be ZnSxSe1-x(0.2=x =1) that is excited by the light with a wavelength of 380-500 nanometers such that the light is emitted from the LED to emit light.
