摘要

PURPOSE: A management control system of an EPON(Ethernet Passive Optical Network) and a method thereof are provided to set a management control channel between an OLT(Optical Line Terminator) and an ONU(Optical Network Unit) while realizing a standard interface, thereby smoothly integrating other OLT with other ONU without modifying a message format or changing an information exchange procedure. CONSTITUTION: An ONU attempts accessing an OLT, and initializes MIB(Management Information Base) information(S21), while the OLT initializes MIB information of the ONU(S11). The ONU transmits a message for requesting initial setup information to the OLT(S22). The OLT receives the message(S12), and transmits all setup information response messages(S13). The ONU receives the response messages(S23), and carries out a setup information process(S24), then periodically sends an MIB information report message to the OLT(S25). The OLT receives the report message, and updates the MIB information of the ONU(S14).
