PURPOSE: A method for automatically converting a communication mode is provided to automatically convert a television mode of an Internet television into a communication mode when connection of the communication mode is completed in a state that the Internet television is in the television mode in trying to connect to the communication mode, thereby overcoming boredom while trying connection of the communication mode. CONSTITUTION: A user turns on a TV set and converts a mode into a communication mode(100,102). The user tries to connect to a wanted site(104). It is judged whether the user converts the communication mode to a television mode to overcome boredom until the wanted site is connected(106). If not, a picture of the communication mode is output(108). If so, it is judged whether connection of the communication mode is completed(110). If connection of the communication mode is not completed, a message 'connecting' is output to a predetermined position of a current television mode picture(112). If connection of the communication mode is completed, a message 'connection completed' is output(114). After a few seconds, the current television mode is automatically converted into the communication mode(116).
