FEED ADDITIVES AND FEED CONTAINING α-TOCOPHEROL AND SQUID LIVER OIL, AND OLD LAYING HEN FED BY THE ABOVE FEED

PURPOSE: Feed additives containing alpha-tocopherol, cuttlefish liver oil and an excipient are provided, which increase the amount of general components such as moisture, crude protein, crude ash or the like in body tissues of spent laying hens when added to feed thereby improving meat quality. CONSTITUTION: Feed additives contain 4.5 to 7.0% by weight of alpha-tocopherol, 0.5 to 1.0% by weight of cuttlefish liver oil and 92.0 to 95.0% by weight of an excipient. Feed for improving meat quality of spent laying hens contains 5.0 to 8.0% by weight of the feed additives. The addition of the feed additives to the feed increases EPA(eicosapentaenoic acid) as highly unsaturated fatty acid in body tissues of spent laying hens, thereby enhancing DHA(docosa hexaenoic acid).
