PURPOSE: A run-up control method of an automatic transmission for a vehicle is provided to decide run-up and slip only with a pulse generator-A if the vehicle of the automatic transmission removing a pulse generator-B satisfies 2 to 3 up shift control condition. CONSTITUTION: A run-up control method of an automatic transmission for a vehicle is composed of steps of outputting up/down shift control signals if the traveling vehicle satisfies a predetermined up/down shift condition and computing RPM(Revolution per Minute) of an output shaft by detected RPM of a turbine(S110,S120,S130); predicting the next RPM of the output shaft after computing the change rate for the RPM of the output shaft according to the time variation of the computed RPM of the output shaft(S150,S160); predicting the next RPM of the turbine by the predicted next RPM of the output shaft and deciding the next run-up(S170,S180); and performing and applying duty correction according to the decided next run-up to the next up/down shift control(S190).
