Multi-axial lower extremity orthosis for the rehabilitation of children with spastic cerebral palsy

PURPOSE: Provided is an auxiliary device for supporting lower portion of children having stiffened cerebral palsy to help lead normal walking, in turn, rehabilitation of the children by adopting multiple axes for the device. CONSTITUTION: The device comprises a waist supporting part(1); multi-axes control parts(4) for hip joints; inner and outer flexible cross beams(3) coupled to the control parts(4) and having two bending angles; and two thigh supporting parts(2) connected to the cross beams(3). Between the waist supporting part(1) and the cross beams(3), a joint(A) for the hip joint is present while another joint(B) for knee joint of human body positioning between the thigh supporting part(2) and the flexible cross beams(3). Both of the joints corresponds to motional features of both body portions.
