PURPOSE: A game playing method is provided to make an EQ(Emotional Quotient) of a real robot identical to that of a virtual robot for enabling the real robot to do the same behaviour as the virtual robot while a user is playing a game with the virtual robot, and to grow the EQ of the robot via the game. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises several steps. A game participant accesses a game server and requests to participate in a game(S401). A game engine loads a game environment at a client server(S402). The game engine extracts a corresponding virtual robot from a database, places the virtual robot at a proper position on a game screen, and receives the EQ of the virtual robot(S403). The game engine progresses the game by considering the EQ of the robot and responses from the game participants(S404, S405, S406). The control data, generated by the game engine for controlling the virtual robot, is transmitted to the client server, and then being transmitted to the real robot for enabling the real robot to do the same behaviour as the virtual robot(S409). If the game is finished, the EQ of both the virtual and the real robot is updated according to a difficulty and a result of the game(S408, S409). An EQ synchronization step between the virtual and the real robot is repeated because the updated EQ of the virtual robot can be different from that of the real robot(S411).
