Method for decreasing crack of mold copperplate for slab casting

PURPOSE: A method for reducing cracks on funnel type mold copper plate for slab casting is provided to extend life time of the mold copper plate by reducing cracks formed on the surface of the funnel type mold copper plate used when continuously casting molten steel into slab. CONSTITUTION: The method is characterized in that tension bolts(3) for connecting the mold copper plate(1) and water jacket(6) in a rectangular region ranging from a surface level of molten iron to a point that is about 180 mm distanced to a lower side from the surface level of molten iron and projection parts(4) for fixing the tension bolts are not arranged on a funnel type curved surface convex part(13) of the funnel type mold copper plate for slab casting so that generation of cracks on the funnel type curved surface convex part is reduced.
