PURPOSE: A method for preparing a cinnabar pigment of Chosun white porcelain bottle and a cinnabar pigment prepared by the method are provided, to obtain a red cinnabar porcelain work of an excellent quality. CONSTITUTION: The cinnabar pigment comprises 27-37.8 wt% of copper oxide; 16.0-27.0 wt% of gairome clay; 0.8-7.3 wt% of pottery stone; 0.3-6.6 wt% of a pine tree material; 0.1-5.3 wt% of silica; 37.0-46.6 wt% of tin oxide; and 0.1-0.9 wt% of dichromate. Preferably the cinnabar pigment has a size of 1-3 micrometers. The method comprises the steps of (100) pulverizing the copper oxide, gairome clay, pottery stone, a pine tree material, silica, tin oxide and dichromate; (110) mixing the pulverized materials; and (120) adding water to the mixture and stirring it.
