PURPOSE: Footrest-reinforcing structure for reducing the injured degree in a driver's ankle is provided to reduce the injured degree in the driver's ankle by securing static stiffness for driver's foot support load and having sufficient deformation for the collision load transmitted in a vehicle body collision. CONSTITUTION: Footrest-reinforcing structure for reducing the injured degree in a driver's ankle comprises a footrest(12) integrally formed to a side of a dash panel(10) and footrest-reinforcing brackets(20) fixed to the back side of the dash panel by bolts(30). The footrest-reinforcing bracket has a section of a multi-stepped bent shape and forms plural rectangular slot holes(22) to the upper and lower ends. If collision load is given to the footrest-reinforcing brackets, in a head-on collision of a vehicle body, the slot holes each move to the upper and lower sides and sectional deformation occurs and thus collision force is absorbed.
