FIELD: industrial organic synthesis catalysts.;SUBSTANCE: chloroform and chloroparaffins are produced simultaneously on catalyst based on copper compound complex with nitrogen-containing organic compound, in particular: 1.5-4.0% cuprous or cupric sa 30.0-50.0% quaternary ammonium salt or amino acid, or amide, or alkanolamine, or urea, or urea derivative, or mixture thereof; and alcohol, or hydroxyl-containing organic compound, or water (balancing amount). Chloroform and chloroparaffins are simultaneously obtained by liquid-phase reaction of carbon tetrachloride with n-paraffins in 1:1 molar proportion at 150-175оС in presence of 1 to 10% of above-defined catalyst followed by distilling off chloroform.;EFFECT: simplified technology and increased yields of products.;10 cl, 1 tbl, 2 ex
