FIELD: working low-rigidity metallic parts such as shafts in universal machine tools.;SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of applying on working tool two kinds of oscillations and measuring error of worked surface; measuring error of blank at rotating blank rigidly fixed in boundary supports and simultaneously damping blank in its cross sections between said supports; setting parameters of oscillations applied on working movement of tool depending upon error of blank shape and character of distribution of stresses occurred at fixation of blank; extrapolating shape error of worked surface of blank according to data received by measuring in cross sections of blank between its supports. It is possible to straighten blank before working it while clamping blank in rigid supports for straightening it depending upon value and direction of plane of maximum camber of blank. Blank may be fixed in rigid supports such as rests with doubled rollers. Blank may be damped in its cross sections between boundary supports at using self-centering rests.;EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of working.;4 cl, 6 dwg
